We are pleased to report that some of the federal legislative suggestions that are contained in this book, were sent by the Surrey Board of Trade to the Canadian Chamber of Commerces's September 15th, 2007 annual general meeting that was held in Ontario. These were unanimously accepted and passed by all 260 delegates advocacy subject for the coming year.
As a result of the lobby work done by the The Surrey Board of Trade, The Canadian Chamber, the federal government has taken action with the introduction of Bill C-27, which was resubmitted in March of 2009 as Bill S-4 has received Royal Assent and is now law as of October, 2009. This recognizes identity theft into the criminal code of Canada and makes possession and transportation of someones else's private information a an indictable offence. That means this book (In Your Good Name) has already made a difference.
